Course Overview

This advanced-level course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely erect, alter, and dismantle complex scaffolding structures in accordance with Australian legislation and industry standards.

Designed for experienced scaffolders looking to progress their career, this High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) course builds on intermediate scaffolding knowledge and prepares you for real-world application of suspended, cantilevered, and hanging scaffolds. Training is delivered by industry professionals in a hands-on environment.

  • WHS Regulations, Codes, AS/NZ 1576 and 4576
  • Safe handling and inspection of materials
  • Fall prevention in scaffolding (SG4:10)
  • Complex scaffold design appreciation

  • Suspended / swing stage scaffolds
  • Cantilevered hoist and hanging scaffolds

Eligibility criteria

All candidates must meet the minimum Language, Literacy, and Numeracy requirements completing an LLND assessment prior to enrolment.

Candidates also need:

  • A current WORKSAFE ISSUED HRWL CARD (SI) based on the completion of CPCCLSF3001 – Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding intermediate level.
  • Intermediate tube and coupler skills assessment (to determine current skills) on day 1 of course.

At Breight Training, we believe that hands-on industry experience at the previous HRWL level is essential before progressing to more advanced scaffolding training.

Assessment requirements

A candidate cannot be deemed competent for the unit unless they are able to demonstrate satisfactory performance (to the required level) in all assessment tasks.

Certification and renewal

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for CPCCLSF4001 – License to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding advanced level.

While this certificate does not have a formal expiry, industry best practice recommends refresher training every three years to maintain competency and compliance. 

Completion of this unit does not in itself grant a High Risk Work Licence. A separate application must be submitted to WorkSafe WA.
