Course Overview
This course provides participants with the next level of skills and knowledge required to safely erect, alter, and dismantle intermediate scaffolding structures in accordance with Australian legislation and industry standards.
Building on the Basic Scaffolding licence, this nationally recognised training is delivered by industry-experienced trainers and includes practical, workplace-relevant scaffold builds and assessments. Ideal for those looking to expand their scaffolding capabilities and advance their career in high-risk work environments.
What you will learn
Participants will develop a thorough understanding of:
- Australian Statutory Regulations and Codes of Practice
- AS/NZ 1576 and 4576 Guidelines
- Safe Handling and Inspection of Materials (Manual Handling)
- Preventing Falls in Scaffolding
- Assessing Material Requirements for Intermediate Scaffolds
- Scaffold builds (spurs)
- Erect and Dismantle Tube and Coupler Intermediate Scaffolds

Eligibility criteria
All candidates must meet the minimum Language, Literacy, and Numeracy requirements.
Candidates also need:
- A current WORKSAFE ISSUED HRWL CARD (SB) based on the completion of CPCCLSF2001 – Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level.
- To complete a Basic Scaffold – Skills Assessment – AtPac one lift one bay build on the first day of course.
Assessment requirements
A candidate cannot be deemed competent for the unit unless they are able to demonstrate satisfactory performance (to the required level) in all assessment tasks.
Certification and renewal
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of CPCCLSF3001 – License to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding intermediate level.
While this certificate does not have a formal expiry, industry best practice recommends refresher training every three years to maintain competency and compliance.
Completion of this unit does not in itself grant a High Risk Work Licence. A separate application must be submitted to WorkSafe WA.
