Course Overview
Our Scaffold Inspection course is designed for experienced scaffolders who already hold a High-Risk Licence for Advanced Scaffolding (CPCCLSF4001) and are currently working in the industry. The course provides the advanced knowledge and practical skills required to carry out thorough inspections, identify defects, and implement corrective actions that reduce risk and improve safety.
With a strong focus on industry application, participants will also learn to interpret and apply scaffolding safety standards.
What you will learn
Participants will develop a thorough understanding of:
- Participate in an initial practical scaffold inspection session
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a scaffold inspector
- Review relevant legislation, Australian Standards, and industry safety guidance
- Identify scaffold components, including modular systems and tube-and-coupler
- Assess foundations and supporting structures
- Inspect scaffold cladding, ties, and beam work
- Read and interpret scaffold drawings
- Complete handover certificates and inspection reports correctly
- Identify and report scaffold faults
- Undertake practical inspection and report-writing assessments
Eligibility criteria
All candidates must meet the minimum Language, Literacy, and Numeracy requirements.
Candidates must also:
- Successfully pass a VOC as a prerequisite to attend the course.
- Hold a High-Risk Licence for Advanced Scaffolding (CPCCLSF4001)
- Have sound computer literacy skills
- Be in good general health and fitness
- Undertake manual handling tasks
Assessment requirements
A candidate cannot be deemed competent for the unit unless they are able to demonstrate satisfactory performance (to the required level) in all assessment tasks.
Each candidate has a maximum of two additional opportunities to demonstrate competency without additional fees applying.
Certification and renewal
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Certificate of Completion.
